There are people who come into our lives and become more than just acquaintances they become family.
Evangelist Mark A. Roman was one of those people. He treated me with the same warmth, kindness, and care that he gave his own children. I didn’t need to be told I was welcome in his home, I felt it every time I stepped through the door.
His presence was a pillar of strength for the entire family and even for those of us privileged to be close to them. He was a father not only in title but in action, always encouraging, always supportive, and always calm. I remember the laughter, the way he calls my name “Precious” from up, gentle wisdom in his words, and the quiet but powerful way he led his home with love and dignity.
His passing leaves a deep void in my heart, yet we are comforted by the legacy of integrity, kindness, and love that he leaves behind.
To his dear Dr. Mrs. Gift Roman and children, thank you for sharing him with the rest of us. I will forever cherish the memories and the moments that made him a father figure in my life.
Rest in peace, Daddy. You may have left this world, but your legacies live on in all of us who were blessed to know you.
