Tribute to Evangelist HRH Mark Amachree Roman:

    A Life of Service,
    Faith, and Financial Stewardship
It is with profound respect and a touch of melancholy that we pay tribute to
the late Evangelist HRH Mark Amachree Roman, a man whose life was a
testament to unwavering faith, dedicated service, and exemplary financial
stewardship. As the former Bursar of the University of Port Harcourt during
my tenure as the 6 th Vice Chancellor of the University, July 2005 to July
2010, Evangelist HRH Roman left an indelible mark not only on the
institution's financial landscape but also on the lives of countless individuals
he encountered. We were therefore, not surprised when he informed us that
his people pleaded with him to be their king.
Evangelist Roman was more than just a financial administrator; he was a
pillar of integrity and a beacon of uprightness in all his dealings. His tenure
as Bursar was characterized by a meticulous attention to detail, a
commitment to transparency, and an unwavering dedication to ensuring the
prudent management of the university's resources. He approached his duties
with a deep sense of responsibility, understanding the critical role the Bursary
played in the overall success and development of the University of Port
Harcourt. His financial acumen and ethical approach helped to lay a strong
foundation for the institution's growth and stability during our time.
As his former Area and Zonal pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church
of God, I can also affirm that beyond his professional accomplishments,
Evangelist Mark Amachree Roman was, as his title suggests, a devout
man of God. His evangelistic calling was not merely a label but a lived
reality that permeated every aspect of his existence. He carried his faith with
grace and humility, often using his position as an opportunity to impact lives
positively, sharing words of encouragement, wisdom, and spiritual guidance.

He had a large heart. He was an incurable giver He embodied the principles
of his faith, demonstrating compassion, fairness, and a genuine concern for
the well-being of others. Many will recall his quiet strength, his calming
presence, and the spiritual counsel he readily offered.
Evangelist Roman was also known for his approachability and his
willingness to mentor and guide younger colleagues. He invested in people,
nurturing talent and fostering a supportive environment within his department
and beyond. His legacy is therefore not just one of financial figures and
audits, but also of empowered individuals who benefited from his wisdom
    and leadership.
As we reflect on his life, we remember a man who seamlessly blended his
professional expertise with his spiritual devotion. Evangelist Mark Amachree
Roman's life was a powerful example of how one can excel in their secular
calling while remaining deeply committed to their faith. He demonstrated that
integrity and piety are not mutually exclusive but can indeed be
complementary forces that lead to a life of profound impact.
Though he has departed from our earthly presence, the memory of Evangelist
Mark Amachree Roman will continue to inspire. His contributions to the
University of Port Harcourt, the Church – particularly L RCCG, Life
Sanctuary parish, his unwavering faith, and his life of exemplary service will
forever be etched in our hearts. We extend our deepest condolences to his
family, friends, and all who were touched by his remarkable life. May his
gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
